Shapes

I'm taking part in Wild Arena's July Photo Challenge this month and today's theme was 'shapes'.

School holidays means Wild Wednesdays are back, my voluntary day working with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust at their family events. Today I was running pond dipping sessions (as I often do) and when we started, there was a freshly emerged dragonfly clinging on to it's exuvia and drying out.

Later on it flew away. There were lots of empty cases left all over the rushes and I brought a couple home for my collection :)

Plenty of shapes in the wings here for today's theme!

Stunning Louise and how privileged you must feel. I've only seen dragonflies emerge once and it was magical. Fav.
