I was out on a nightjar safari with Yorkshire Coast Nature tonight somewhere on the North York Moors. Afterwards I drove on to a cottage for a couple of nights and, as I was passing close to Whitby, I made a detour to see if the abbey was lit up at night.
The nightjar safari was great - lots of birds churring and calling and several close fly pasts too!
