I've been out this afternoon on adult only wildplay - a bug hunting session with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust but no children allowed! I travelled south the SWT headquarters and was so excited to see lesser stag beetles - the first time I've ever seen a stag beetle as they're not found where I live, I think south Staffordshire is about as far north as stag beetles go.
I had this one on my hand for ages, getting a close look at it! They're so cute. I really do love beetles!
I would really love to see a proper stag beetle one day, I know there are good populations in London, but well, London is so far and so big! Still, I now know the lesser stag hot spot at Wolseley Bridge (where I was today), which isn't as far as London!
@overalvandaan A lot of blurred photos and the occasional one that turns out ok! I just keep clicking! I guess I'm just used to holding the camera with one hand as I do quite a lot!
So clear detail ,simple and clear,yep ! definitely not as far as London ,but still quite a trip.but sure worth it for you.sounds like you had a great day
