I like small mammals. I dislike domestic cats. I managed to get this little shrew off my mother's cat and thought for a short while it might recover, but it didn't make it. Personally, I would like to see all domestic cats eradicated - I'm sure birds, small mammals, frogs etc would agree!
I like cats myself, but don't think they should be left to roam all over attacking the song birds and other little creatures. You gave this one a peaceful end at least.
@houser934 oh yes, I don't mind predators - I'm happy for birds of prey etc to do it, things that need to eat prey, but cats just torment and kill little creatures - I know it's just that killer instinct leftover from the wild when they would have eaten these things, but domestic cats do a lot of damage to our small wildlife for no reason!
I quite agree. I have just got home after 10 very long days away with work to find the remains of a bird on my drive... I've never seen a shrew so thanks for posting and continuing my education:)
