Took a day off from renovations to get out on the moors. The heather is amazing this the year and the scent was delightful - wish I could somehow include it here with the photo! A good day of walking and bug spotting :)
Looks glorious all being well I plan a trip to the peaks next week as my wife loves heather. The only issue is that she has to use a wheelchair for any distance so it's difficult to find accessible areas.
@rjb71 That could definitely be tricky. We were around the Longshaw Estate and walked up Higger Tor (Higger Tor is on the photo) and there are definitely good views of heather around here. If you park on the car park at surpise view it is only a short walk to this view (from the back left corner of the car park) and not too much uphill (plenty of rocks she could sit on for a rest too) - https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-q8GgRx7e9kI/WZs9z3-RvnI/AAAAAAAA114/uX18VCqF-VEvTFCJaX4zLUFj9MSBeg_PQCKgBGAs/s1600/14.JPG
I'll keep it in mind and if I can think of any heathery places with good access I'll let you know!
@roachling Thanks for the link I will have a look at it :) We visited last year and did bakewell and ladybower which was nice but I aim to drive up into the peaks a bit more this year just for the views.
Sounds like we were out doing the same thing only our heather was well mixed with gorse so we had purple and yellow. Yes, the fragrance was fantastic. hope the house renovations are going well.

If I can be of any help feel free to ask - if there's a location you're unsure about, I'd be happy to nip over and scope it out if it helps!
