30 Days Wild Day 5 - Walking with the curlews

I headed out for a group walk on the rocks where I grew up this evening, spotting curlews and other birds on the moors.

This scene is not as used to be... some of you may remember the huge moorland fire we had last year. It was caused by wild campers, starting in the woods to the right in the photo (you can tell it's fire damaged) and spreading over to my left in this photo and for a good way behind me too, burning 60 hectares of moorland habitat. The fire started on my birthday last year and burned for a couple of weeks.
