Found this pair of sunglasses on the beach. Thought they were just covered in sand and might be salvagable. Wrong. They were encrusted with some sort of marine growth; hard, almost like coral.

Last year, same beach, I lost a pair of Oakleys in the surf. Only had them because they were left in the glovebox of a used car I bought. This definitely isn't them, but maybe mine look similar by now. Maybe a "365 Marine Biologist" will come along and tell us what that stuff is??
