My son found Pepper and the rest of her litter, abandon on the roadside, less than 2 weeks old. Folks told us they'd never make good pets having been taken away from their mother at such an early age. That was more than 12 years ago. The two we kept have proven to be a couple of the finest cats I've known.

We spent days trying to find if mom might be in the neighborhood. All roads were dead end. We live in the country and sadly its not uncommon for folks to just dump unwanted animals on the side of the road.
