Good morning! by rob257

Good morning!

Even young Phoebes seem to be un-intimidated.
They frequently nest right above often used doorways, though when we can we try to give them as much peace and quiet as possible.
You have to admit, they do not have that beauteous quality of the adult birds. Of course, they didn't know you photographed them and sent their faces around the world!

wow they are weird looking at this stage!

The house eave is just inches above their nest, so except for an occasional check with a mirror, I had to wait until they were willing and able to peek above the edge of the nest to get a pic! Now if I could only get some shots of the young red poles that call the inside of a straw hat, hung on the outside of a door, without terrible reflections off the glass. Great to observe, but near impossible to photograph.

Your birds do choose unusual spots to build their nests! Love the expression on these two - and your terrific detail. I had two about this stage that spent 2 days last summer sitting on an old tv antennae laying against the back fence. Had a great time taking shots of them. Fav
