BIF Aeshna multicolor Blue Darner

Being inspired by Bill D and others on this site I've been trying to capture some bird in flight shots........ with limited success. Today I saw two species of dragonflies patrolling on the hunt and thought, bug in flight! After much experimentation I got the hang of tracking, leading and manual focusing on the fly as it were. Low keeper percentage but it was rewarding to get a few good shots. Maybe a collage later in the week. Canon 7d 70-200 f4L........ and patience!
You got it in flight!!! That is so awesome!!! The dragonfly is gorgeous!! Beautiful picture!!

Crikey you must have some patience! All these great dragonfly shots! How are you liking that 7D?
October 16th, 2010
@jinximages Yes, patience is a must! That and accepting an inordinately high failure rate. The 7D is a lot of fun, still learning the basics. I went off on the in flight tangent now I need to focus on macros. Thanks for your comments.
