An Epiphylum flower, an epiphytic cactus from Central America, encouraged to bloom in the arid climate near Riverside, California. Takes frequent watering to prosper here.
I only saw one variety of cactus flower, I think it's the common type - reddish, tiny and quite discrete (don't know how to describe it). This one surprises me, so, so beautiful. Perfect macro shot!
