Head On by robv

Head On

I bought Zerene Stacker, software for making focus stacked images. A quick series of 8 shots focusing down the head of an Anthaxia using my Wild M420 with 1X Diagnostic Instruments coupler, 100w metal halide illuminator with axial mount fiber optic ring light and my Canon 7D. First shots with the 2X attachment on the Makrozoom objective.
Holy Moly.....that's a mouthful! The end result is fantastic though! Is this the head of a fly (for us non-scientifically inclined types, lol)?

@lynnb It's a beetle in the family Buprestidae, the head width across the eyes is approximately 1.5mm.
