Fringe by robv

Fringe

This is a Colorado Fringe toed lizard, Uma notata, They can run quickly across the sand surface using their fringed toes for traction and the flattened snout allows them to dive into the sand and bury themselves to avoid predators. This one was soaking up some rays and let me get quite close since he was sheltering under a large Creosote bush.
Great catch!
