@cruiser@fbailey@jgpittenger Hi Chris, FB and Jane. Thanks for your comments on the video - the Cat bird is one of our firm favourites.(No FB - unfortunately we don't have a dog bird LOL) We had hoped to catch a Lyre Bird - they can and do mimic anything - any type of other bird call and a wide assortment of human sounds eg telephone ring tones, chain-saws, bells and whistles. Just amazing. It was not to be on that day though so the cat bird was second best. Thanks again for having a look. :)
We also have catbirds that sound like cats- not as eerie as that though- more like meow. What does sound strange are the noises the fawns make. They sound similar- like babies left in the woods.
@olivetreeann It must be nice to live in a country where the deer are native. They are so gorgeous - especially the fawns (must be nice to hear them too). Over here they are treated as pests - we're expected to remove them from our property. Quite sad actually.
@netkonnexion LOL - Now that would have been a sight to catch!! Couldb't catch the cat bird that day - but I have seen them - they are sort of pigeon shape and green!!
@dkbarnett Hi Delwyn - thanks for checking out the video. Cat birds, Whip birds and Lyre birds - all awesome - all let you know that you're in a rainforest! Cheers
great little video. Thanks for sharing
