Tasmanian timbers

Tasmania has a large timber industry - both native forest trees and plantation trees. The native forests are more protected now than they were in the past. This example shows the dressed timbers and the raw trunks that would have been harvested. The rainforest timber make beautiful furniture.
What a fabulous idea for a display - I love it. I think you are right - I ought to visit Tassie sometime!

@casablanca Hi Casablanca - the glass panel was from the same info centre. Tassie is small but, boy, it has a lot packed into it. :)

Interesting display- it almost looks like an art installation of some sort.
