Driving West 1

From the Celtic Region of Glenn Innes it's approximately a 6 hour drive to Lightning Ridge - if you kept going you'd end up in desert country. So the landscape changes quite dramatically as you drive. This area is early in the drive and is cattle country.

Looks as if there is far more rain here. Great sky, tree patterns, and fence line

@madeinnl Hi Ko - this was a very pretty section - although not all of the paddocks had this number of trees. Cheers Rob

@golftragic This was a very nice section! Clouds again - no rain! :)

@taffy Hi Taffy - don't they make a difference - some paddocks had none - must be dreadfully hot for the cattle in summer. :)

@robz @taffy The presence of trees of reasonable size tells us a great deal about the soil and rainfall appropriate for the species. These trees are are a pretty good size so must have good roots going deep.

@robz Seems to be a pretty widespread problem, despite T. Abbott and his mates collective heads in the sand.

@golftragic We did not see that much of this sort of country - it got very dry very quickly after this. Not a good sign! And not much being done - as you say - heads in the sand!

Pretty tones, love the randomly scattered trees

Love this - all that space with very few distractions and the colours blend into one another. Great sky too:)

@suzanne234 Thanks Suzanne - there were so many different landscapes in the 4 hour drive - this was the prettiest, :)

@fbailey Thanks FB - This was the nicest landscape we saw on that section - and then the photo taken at 100km/hr actually worked! :)
