I don't really think this is an example of this process as it is used today- it seems to be too extreme - but I guess it does produce a different feel. Not having a modern editing program means that this has been created by converting the image into black and white and then reintroducing colours into the shadows and the highlights. Apparently this is the origin of the process - to introduce colours into b&w images.
