I love shooting up at architecture like that. Beautifully done. I think it is great as is, but I think it would also look good in b&w.

One of my first get pushed challenges was given to me by a member who noticed that I am a 'recording' type photographer, reacting to my surroundings. (so true) So, she challenged me to be pro-active and to bring some cut flowers into my home, set up a table near a window with the light falling sideways onto the flowers. Build a still life with a few more objects that are sympathetic to the flowers and take a photograph by natural light with as wide open an aperture as I can manage.
I also notice the same trait with you while browsing through your project. So, I give you the same challenge!
Have fun!

@farmreporter Lol - how apt Wendy - that is also so true for me - just always have the camera in the pocket. I'll have a go at this but the flowers may be a bit limited (we're still in drought conditions) and I'm afraid I can't set the aperture on my camera. But I can read the F stop being used with the settings I've chosen (just checked to be sure) - so I need a large number for a wide aperture - is that correct. I'm sure I can have a go though!! Cheers Rob

@farmreporter Hi again Wendy - I just realised I was very rude and forgot to thank you for your comments on this - I really appreciated the mention of the composition as it was really difficult to give an appreciation of it without being able to fit it all in! Many thanks Rob

@taffy Thanks so much Taffy- I found it difficult to know what angle to use and how much to try to fit in. Knowing how accomplished you are at architectural shots I really appreciate your feedback. :)

@shutterbug49 Thanks Shutterbug - I'll give it a go on my computer - not sure though because I really loved that green dome. I just tried it - the shapes were emphasized and the details were also good - but I'm afraid I felt it lost something without it's vibrant colours. Always worth a try though. Thanks for the idea. Cheers Rob

@onewing Hi Babs - it is so gorgeous inside - but from up in the Centrepoint viewing spot it looks so crowded in. Wonderful to still have it in all its glory though. :)

@casablanca Such a beautiful building. We went into one shop - an antique shop - lovely jewellery but sooo expensive.
Exam 1 over - was he happy with it???

Rob - if you cannot do flowers, then any still life will do with the same conditions - natural light, etc,
