Spring butterflies. by robz

Spring butterflies.

Apparently butterflies like lavender. This is the first time I've been able to get a butterfly to stay still long enough for a photo. These 3 different types were all present in great numbers. This is a composite of 4 images for the composite challenge.
Seamlessly done composite though I think I’d have liked it better if top right and bottom left ones weren’t so similar

wonderful shot!

@jgpittenger LOL - you're quite right Jane - I do believe he may have been the same one in two different images - there were dozens of the white ones but I only managed to catch a few that were at all focused. I should have looked more carefully and at least turned him around!! I don't think I can do that on PicMonkey either. Oh well - it was pretty exciting to get a photo - they move too quickly normally! Cheers Rob

Wow, so many butterflies.

I like the composite, but I think the white ones are the dreaded cabbage moths, the ones that eat your vegies.

Great capture

stunning detail

I had those white ones on my lavender the other day

Fav. The seams of the composite go unnoticed if you don't point them out and I really like that. The shots are all beautiful. Fav.

Nicely done.

What a super selection. You are so good at composites, I am in awe!

Terrific :)

You are really good at composites. It is impossible to see any technical flaw and the details look completely natural.

Great capture

@golftragic Drat - I've heard nothing good about cabbage moths - but never actually seen one. I hope they don't eat a whole lot of other stuff we don't have vegies so that's not a problem. :)

@sugarmuser These were all on Lavender too - but we've never seen any of them before. And apparently Marnie told me that the white ones are the dreaded cabbage moths!!

@sangwann Thanks for your lovely comment Dione - I must admit I do like doing the composites - it's a good brain teaser! :)

@casablanca Aww thanks Casablanca - they are just fun to do - just tricky enough to make the brain tick over instead of fade away - hopefully anyway!! :)

@etienne Thanks for your kind comment Etienne. I only have a very old editing program (Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10) - but being old it does actually give you a lot of control rather than a lot of auto settings and procedures. I enjoy playing with it - it makes you think! Cheers Rob

Wow, so many close together. Outstanding!

These are such gorgeous butterflies !

@lastrami_ Hi Lastrami - I'm afraid I have to confess that this is a composite of four different butterfly images - it was easy to put them together as they had the same background. :)

@fr1da Hi Frida - I thought the same - but apparently Marnie has told me that they are the dreadful cabbage moth! :)

Well done Rob! Thanks for all your entries for this round of the Composite Challenge. This one blends so well since they all shared a similar background. Congrats on being a finalist!

The markings look too pretty to be a cabbage white unless they are different in Australia. Great photo.

@olivetreeann Thanks Ann - it's always a fun challenge!

@rosie00 Hi Lesley - thanks for all of your interest and comments on so many of my images - that's very nice of you to take the effort and time. Also, I would like to think that these aren't cabbage moths so probably some Googling is needed! Cheers Rob
