The bottle brush family is so important to Australian wildlife - they provide food and shelter to a huge range of animals and are found in a variety of forms in nearly all of our different environments.
5 of the 6 plants shown in this series were photographed on our 110 acre property at Stanthorpe. They were the only flowering plants found - and this is the beginning of Spring. Normally we would have dozens of species flowering - including 5 or 6 terrestrial orchids. It's very sad....

The lack of rain has played havoc with the flowers hasn't it.

We are going out on Thursday with our walking group to do a wildflower walk. I hope that after rain over the last few days we find some wildflowers.

It is a very interesting serie, I am glad to learn about these plants and I like the choice of macro as a way to present them.
