Isn’t it fun to try to figure out tracks! My 5 yo grandson was prepared by his mother for the dying of their 14 yo dog by her telling him that dogs and most every other animal except tortoises didn’t live as long as humans. After their dog died he said to her: I think we should get a tortoise dog
@jgpittenger LOL Jane - that's the type of story that becomes family lore and gets told time and time again. It's wonderful how children see things and tie them together in such different ways. I bet there are many adults who would like a tortoise dog too - our Zoe is 11 now and I dread the day when she isn't with us any longer. I am a bit sad about these tracks too - I just hope he found the way to our other dam which still has a bit more water in it. The tortoises are doing it very tough at the moment. Thanks for sharing your story - I loved it. :)
@fbailey I know FB - it's a sad thought isn't it. And what's worse there's not many places he could go that would be any better. I'm hoping he made it to our other dam which has a little more water.....
@golftragic Hi Marnie - we keep finding them on the roads - I stop and pick them up but it'd becoming harder and harder to find somewhere to release them....
How much longer do you think Scomo and cronies can keep saying they're "doing the heavy lifting" and can't set anything else in place?
@robz Do not start me on that useless, self-centred, small-minded pathetic lot of whackers in the Canberra bubble!!! They are absolutely full of you-know-what!! Talk about playground-level thinking. Sorry to hear about the tortoises, but not surprised given the conditions. I lived in a semi-arid part of Oz on the land for 20 years so know exactly what you mean.
