I like the three pictures of today, with their unmistakable mysterious IR effect. It is a pity that they show such a sad dryness, as we are all aware now of the fire disasters that you are living through in Australia. The only thing we can do unfortunately is to share our sympathy and compassion.
@etienne Thank you for your kind thoughts Etienne. Even though it has been horrendous (and still is in many places) this drought and these fires have at least awakened our population to the true effects of climate change. Hopefully our politicians will be forced to least take the matter seriously now - rather than just pretend it's not happening! We still have the rest of Summer to get through and I'm afraid the meaning of Summer in our country has probably changed however. Thank you again for your thoughts. Rob
@fbailey Hi FB - thank you so much for your comments on these three landscapes. As you said - the camera is a great source of entertainment and is proving to be quite easy to use. I find I tend to use it mainly from the car when we're travelling - it's a bit too heavy to walk with. I haven't played with many of the other settings yet ( a bit too busy) but I would like to. Do you know if using any of the other possibilities would be likely to damage the sensor? Could what has been done to it to change it into an IR camera make the sensor more susceptible under some conditions? I would hate to wreck it! Thanks again for your interest. Cheers Rob
@robz I don't think you can wreck it Rob:) You are way more adventurous than I am, I've changed the f stop a bit according to conditions and have tried a sunset just to see what would happen.If you take a portrait shot it has a strange effect on skin, looks like milk. IR also 'sees' right through sunglasses and fog apparently, am going to attempt the latter when I can. So glad you're having fun!
