Rooftop bar-b-que area by robz

Rooftop bar-b-que area

Many of the newer high rise buildings now have common areas on the rooftop - available for use by residents and their friends. (Catching up with some half and half photos)
Great idea for apartment living

Goodness gracious me. I guess that is a real boon for the bird-box dwellers.

I like the back lighting.

@suzanne234 You're right Suzanne - it would make a big difference - but it also makes a big difference to the price of the unit.... :)

@golftragic Haaa - bird-box dwellers! - I've never thought of it like that before. Heights are not my thing - I don't think I'd cope. :)

@casablanca The afternoon sun in those sails - they must be wind breaks I think. :)

@robz That's how I think of all these people stacked up one on top of another in their own little boxes. Me? I like having a back yard and garden.

@golftragic How very true :) We retired to 100 acres of bush - a lot of people think we're nuts!! We love it !!

@robz Having spent 20 years living on 6000 acres I'm quite happy to settle for a decent backyard these days. Horses for courses.

@golftragic Now that is serious country living. And hard work no doubt! Retirement with a nice backyard and a golf course must be a pleasant change. :)

@robz I had another 20 years lecturing at Deakin University before retiring. I've had three totally different careers, the first part in Phys Ed.
May 23rd, 2018
@golftragic What an interesting life!! What did you lecture in?
May 23rd, 2018
@robz Economic and social history.
May 24th, 2018
@golftragic You must know so many things that mean nothing to me eg how to explain what our illustrious politicians are doing with the budget. It's all guff to me!

@robz Our pollies couldn't like straight in bed. Canberra must be one of the hot-air capitals of the world. I listen to RN Breakfast where lots of pollies are interviewed and almost never hear a straight answer to a straight question. I despair. I don't think anyone can explain Canberra and its sandpit politics but one thing I do know, those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. BTW, I know b-all about chemistry!!
May 25th, 2018
@golftragic I think you have summarized what a lot of Aussies think. :)
May 25th, 2018
@robz I'd reckon, regardless of party affiliation. Years ago I saw a sticker I wish I'd bought. 'Don't vote at all, it only encourages the bastards!'. Mind you, in the absence of compulsory voting look what happened in the US.
