Farm architecture in situ....

Banks of solar cells are popping up everywhere near us - and not just on the tops of houses. These are across our dam and used to be used by the farmer to run his bore and pump the water to his crops.
They're showing up in a lot of creative places around here too. Thankfully they are not too much of an eyesore! Good shot.

Flying over the south east of England recently I was struck by just how many acres are given over to this new "crop".

apparently they do work and and as long as they are constructed in such a way so as not an eyesore, why not?

@olivetreeann Hi Ann - these ones aren't too bad , but unfortunately in some areas up here they are actually clearing native forest to set up solar farms! Not good.

@woofandweft1 Hi Deborah - they are being pushed pretty heavily over here too. The Gov is actually subsidising people to put them on their roofs. Cheers

@summerfield Hi Summerfield - our house here in actually fully dependent on the solar cells on our roof. They can run everything found in a normal house. Better than putting in more coal burning power stations.
