The whole of this area has been getting nearly no rain - and it's even worse further inland. Some cattle properties don't have enough feed so the stockmen take their cattle onto the roadways and follow the "Long Paddock". Basically they graze them along the edges of the highways and roads - there are designated watering spots provided for them. Country folk take it in their stride - I found it a bit disconcerting.
I’m wondering where your focus point was. I looked at your exit and see you shot at f 16 but the cattle weren’t really in good focus. For me, when I am traveling but not really on a photo trip, it is harder to really consider things like composition and hyperfocal distance so I see this more as a memory shot with and interesting story
@jgpittenger Hi again Jane - you are so right - nearly all of these shots will be off the cuff and uneditied - and taken with my only camera - the one that fits in my pocket. :) I'm so sorry I was confusing with my request for your opinion - please don't waste your time on these. I hope you might find some of them interesting just because of their content. We are having such a good time in a very different part of Oz. Cheers Rob
And yes, bit dangerous to let em graze so close near a 80km road...
