@madeinnl Ohh Ko - now you make me feel guilty that I didn't try and practice some black and white ( I never think of it!) I'll find one of them that looks suitable and convert him to have a look! Thanks for mentioning it!! Cheers Rob
@suzanne234 An incredible area Suzanne!! They often get TV crews in to do segments - one lot was there when we went to the "Club in the Scrub" - a gold course in the middle of an opal field!
@golftragic Marnie - honestly there are never ending rusty items for you to choose from! :) And it wasn't too cold - the days were actually beautiful. I think Summer would be terrible - it reaches 52!!!
@dkbarnett Hi Delwyn - this is definitely the place for you. Friendly people, fascinating history, endless rusty items to choose from - and some very nice opals to buy if you wish!! :)
@nobled Hi Dorothy - no doubt it would have an interesting history - stories abound up here - and probably each rusty item could tell a tale - and there's hundreds of them. :)
@robz That's a tad too warm for me Rob, I'd frizzle. But will keep LR in mind when sussing out trips. We don't do camping/caravanning but lots of tour companies to choose from.
@golftragic Hi Marnie - the caravan parks have some nice cabins. The park we stayed in ( Opal Caravan Park) was well managed, a 250m walk from the thermal springs pool, had some really nice cabins, had good entertainment at 4.30 happy hour and you were able to book day tours and a free shuttle bus to and from the club or pub for dinner. You could also book Thai dinners to turn up to the park. It was about a 25 min walk from town along a nice path. It was excellent. You would probably be better to get yourselves out there and then just choose which tours you wanted to do - although most of them were easily accessible with a normal car. The "Pubs in the Scrub" day trip would be a bit too rough on a normal car but most other things were OK. Cheers Rob!
@robz Thanks Rob, that's very helpful information, especially since we do have only a normal car, and being a Peugeot it's pretty low-slung too. When we went to the Flinders Ranges a few year back it didn't really like the unmade roads much. Have fun, post lots of shots.
