Hyacinth Orchid. by robz

Hyacinth Orchid.

These are very special and we are so lucky to have them appear in the bush near the rock. They are leafless orchids which appear as a tall stalk (about 1.5 -2.0 ft high) with purple individual flowers along the top section. They survive by obtaining nutrients from a fungi which lives under the soil in a close symbiotic association with the roots of a Eucalypt tree.
They are lovely little treasures :)
