Interesting you should post this as the only thing I had time to take a shot of today was a Christmas ball (with a very similar cap!). I think this came out quite well- very clear and the texture stands out nicely.
@cocobella No worries... I was interested in the cap part of the holiday ornament. I just took it out (then put it back). All is well. :) I wanted to do something more low key, focusing on just the cap (because we usually focus on the decorations underneath). I just ran out of time. My ornament thanks you for caring about its welfare. :) Enjoy Hawaii!
@voiceprintz@ukandie1 Not loving the grey background and looking for something more low key. Of course, when you prop stuff up on your stovetop, using ambient light and paper from your printer, you are probably going to be bumming about the the grey background and lack of light/contrast. That is why we do this every day. :) Onward! Enjoy the holidays and thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it.
@rosiekerr I was worried about your wonderful baubles you shot the day before ;) happy to hear it's ok .... I usually break 2 or 3 every year....
I enjoy Hawaii A LOT ;)
Glad nothing was broken in order to take this nice e capture. Instead tonight during dinner, the glass jar with sour cream slipped from my hand, hit the rice bowl, and I made a big mess of broken glass...
Rosie, this image tells so much, and you've captured it so well! In terms of framing it, I wonder if you might want to try a second version that puts the ornament top more in a position where the missing part of the ornament is the "in" the photo's blank space, as if the viewer could imagine what would be there? Just a thought . . .
I enjoy Hawaii A LOT ;)
