The old fashioned mailboxes at my youngest child's college. I remember turning the combinations on my own mailbox, many years ago. My daughter had to learn to turn the locks today. It is very nostalgic to see that (at least here) the same locks are still in use. Every generation has to learn their combination, in their own way.
The eldest on his way to London (flying over the ocean, at this writing), the youngest started on her path at school. Many hours of driving, shopping, parent meetings, unloading and unpacking are done. What a day. The beginnings of a new adventure, for everyone.
Thanks, as always, for any visits which you have time to spare.

Beautiful image! I have never seen anything like this! So many changes in your life with your children growing up! Sounds a bit stressful! Hope you are coping ok? Fav for this fab shot!
Amazing story. So great to have places which cherish the old and precious things. I love the converging lines which seem to say that we all work towards a common goal...
Never seen these before. I love your narrative, which rings a lot of bells with me at this point. The mailboxes are so photogenic and you've done them proud. Maybe those locks and little doors are opening a new chapter for you all :)
I must have fav'd this without reading your info (I tend to do that when I look at 365 on my phone, I hate commenting on my phone) otherwise I would have left a message about your eldest being in the UK, is he doing a semester or the whole year away? I hope he is enjoying his time there, my daughter is off to the UK for a semester in the new year.
@ukandie1 He is doing a semester... we are visiting in early November. So far, so good, for him. A very exciting time, for all of us. :) I am looking forward to some photo opps in London, for heaven's sake.
