Ted

I went to a portrait workshop today, pretty much because I have no skills or training in this area. It was very much fun.

Here is one of the participants. None of us knew each other before today. I ended up with a number of classically "lovely" portraits, but this one pulled at me. He was a very skilled photographer, but being a subject was not #1 on his happy list.

So much for a resting period. ;)

Thanks, as always, for taking time to stop by. I appreciate your many kind comments about my three year anniversary shot of yesterday. This continues to be quite the journey. I should not like to walk it alone.
This is wonderful! I love his expression and the way he's framed. And even more special that he's a photographer. You've captured him with his tools of the trade.

Very nice - all natural lighting?

A person's expression is better to catch than the person himself! Of course the light and the camera settings help! fav

You did well. Wonder why the focus is a bit soft behind his glasses? Maybe cause they are strong?

@jgpittenger That is what I think - they were pretty thick. I appreciate your noticing! :)

I think his expression is typical of most photographers, we are all more comfortable on the other side of the camera, he has a wonderful expressive face and you have caught his emotion wonderfully!

Wonderful portrait. It is invigorating to do something new and different, so although no rest, perhaps there is a feeling of renewal.
