Summit by rosiekerr

Summit

Pike's Peak, Colorado. Pikes Peak is the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in North America.

14,115 feet tall... one of the famous "fourteeners" (mountains who's summit is higher than 14,000 feet) in the Rockies.

Quite the view. :)

Thanks for stopping by.

That's a stunning view! Hope you are well. Sorry so absent! Will be going to Paris and Prague instead of Ireland now (will save all your advice for the next trip hopefully with my mom--she's not on this one). xoxo

@louannwarren Sadly, they closed the cog railroad this spring. I just missed it! :(.

Did you hike up? Love the view

@jgpittenger Nope - you drive up and they shuttle you to the top. It is possible to hike up, but I wasn't prepared for it (either by gear or by training). The air is really thin up there!

Gorgeous! Can you imagine my S-I-L who runs a marathon UP that mountain??? What a beautiful scene -- and I'm with you re the thin air making it a challenging place to hike.
