This is Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson (the author of the US Declaration of Independence and the third President of the US). A Unesco World Heritage Site, etc., etc.
It's kind of a complicated location, for slavery and other reasons, so I'll just leave it at that.
In the foreground is a fish pond, for keeping dinner fresh.
If you are curious about the historical complexities, including the geology of Jefferson's slave and mistress Sally Hemmings and her children with Thomas Jefferson, here is some context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzZnqXvRSLE

I've always wanted to go here, and I've never seen it like this with the reflecting fish pond. Jefferson is so fascinating, speaking 5 languages and reading all of his father's books in the family library at a young age. He was intelligent enough to recognize the contradictions of his beliefs in freedom with the Southern culture he was a part of (retired history teacher here).
Love the angle you chose! A great reflection in the fish pond! Have had the pleasure of visiting here on several occasions. Love the architecture, the beautiful wood floors.
@janeandcharlie I was fascinated to learn that Sally Hemmings was half sister to Jefferson’s wife and three quarters European. The two ladies shared the same Caucasian father. Such complicated dynamics!
