Christmas Day started rather dramatically for me as I went for a walk up Wood Lane and found this poor horse stranded in a flooded field. I managed to find out who the horse belonged to by knocking on someone's door who keeps horses but the owners of this poor girl were not at home. I didn't know whether they were out for the day or gone away for a few days so I rang the RSPCA as I couldn't bear to think of her being stranded because the brook had burst its banks. Anyway, I went back to check later after several calls to the RSPCA and she had managed to get into the stable behind (I couldn't tell whether this stable had been fenced off) so I knew that she was safe.
