I have never seen a seagull trying to cadge a lift from a swan before. The pic on the left shows the seagull actually on the swans back and the ones on the right show the seagulls trying to keep flying back on his back because I don't think he was too keen on giving them a ride! It was freezing cold at Priory this afternoon but I stopped off there briefly before going to do my food shop and then I went to see my daughter as it is my birthday today and she wanted to give me my presents. I really didn't want her to get me anything as she has 3 children and they need all the money they've got because her husband is a bricklayer and hasn't been able to work over the past few weeks due to the freezing temperatures so he doesn't get paid. She had got me some lovely flowers and chocolates as well as lovely cards - one from Claire and her husband (also Steve) and one from the grandchildren. She also gave me some absolutely gorgeous chocolate cakes that she had made.
Happy birthday! Sounds like lovely presents. Nightmare weather for builders. I think@lesleyallen may have posted a hitch hiking seagull before - I wonder why they do it unless they think the swans are little islands!

This collage is so cool, I would have figured the swan would attach the seagull. Then of course the seagull might have been giving free back messages.............
