I went hunting the kingfisher but I was out of luck today. There are still some nice wild flowers about and this is a white campion. When I took this pic, I didn't realise that it had a bug sitting in the middle of it because I just took it as a passing shot because I thought it looked so pure amidst the green of the grass, etc.
Thanks to everyone for getting my hawker onto the PP. I have since spoken to Richard the Ecologist at work and he thinks it is a migrant hawker. I'm no expert so perhaps I should rename it again. I didn't really think it was a damselfly but couldn't think what else to call it. When he showed me dragonflies on the British Dragonfly Society website, he said that none of the pics were as good as mine and I had to agree with him. I'm really pleased with how it came out and I hope I can replicate something like this again as I used manual settings.
