This blackbird was looking up making sure she was safe on the bird bath having a drink and I took this through the kitchen window before my horrible day started! I had to get up early as I needed to be in Bedford for a First Aid course and I thought I had got things sussed! However, I went out to my car and Gordon (my golf) was not a good boy. In fact he was extremely naughty and wouldn't start! Isn't it sods law that when you have to be somewhere for a certain time, somebody up there decides you are not going anywhere under your own steam! Anyway, I threw my keys at Steve and said I shall have to get the bus. What an experience! First of all, I phoned work to ask them to phone the organisation where I was expected to say that I might be late. The bus luckily came a couple of minutes later so that was a stroke of luck. Then I was flabbergasted to discover that it was £6 return and we only live 5 miles away. Good job I had some notes in my purse so at least I didn't feel bad changing a £10 note. Anyway, I got there just in the nick of time. It was a good job I had allowed extra time for the new parking meters in the car park but when I passed the multi-story, there was scaffolding all around so I'm not sure I could have parked there anyway.
The First Aid course was excellent but I had been planning to do the Sainsbury's shop afterwards so that was out. I had to phone Steve and ask him to get some milk and then when I made my way to the bus station (which is a dump that is about to be demolished in preparation for a long overdue new one), I had to find out which bay the bus went from. However, the buses don't seem to operate like that as a Luton bus was in the bay I was waiting at and I needed the Biggleswade bus. I was told that I had just missed one - again sods law! The bus eventually came about 5 minutes late and got stuck in all the rush hour traffic. You wouldn't believe how it meanders round the outskirts of the town to get to where it's going and to cap it all, a huge fat woman sat down next to me and in fact sat on top of me. It was a most uncomfortable journey home. I was worried about missing the stop so got off one stop ahead because I rang the bell not realising that there is a stop in the layby before my stop.
I eventually got home an hour later and set to laying and lighting the fire because I didn't have time to do it before I went to work. Thank goodness I don't usually start work before 10 o'clock and fortunately, it's the end of the week. I'm now looking forward to a better weekend.
Apparently, the car eventually started without any sort of intervention apart from winding it over with the key so I don't know what was wrong but it just makes me feel a bit nervous about going out in case I have the same problem when I'm out somewhere. Gordon is a bad boy and I will not say I like anything again because I was only telling someone yesterday that I loved my car just like I told someone the day before the sensor went on my camera that I liked that too!
Sweet shot Rosie! Sounds like a rotten day...now done and a weekend upon us.
I dropped my camera today...it actually sort of just slid to the ground, about a foot....not hard...and it won't turn on...has to go to the shop and it won't be warranty and it's ony 4 months old!!!
