Bald eagle by rosiekind

Bald eagle

From the sublime to the ridiculous - small great tits to huge bald eagles! I have been to the Bird of Prey Centre (English School of Falconry) where I have spent the morning photographing eagles and owls. I have even had the opportunity to fly some of these birds and this fellow landed on my hand! He weighs 7lbs 15oz - more than my son when he was born! By the way thanks for all the kind comments and Favs yesterday and also for getting one of my pics on PP again.

Unfortunately my friend Ernie who was supposed to come with me had some tragic news yesterday. His wife's granddaughter had an emergency caesarean to give birth to twins and tragically died. She has 2 other children aged 11 and 14 (one of whom has Asperger's) and her husband also died soon after she got pregnant so 4 children are now without either parent. I could quite understand why he didn't come as he wanted to stay at home to comfort his wife who naturally is devastated.
Oh my that's terrible, certainly put's one owns problems into perspective. My thoughts are with them all.
