I was in the bedroom this morning just about to go into the bathroom to put my makeup on when I heard an almighty thud against the window. When I looked out of my dirty window, I saw a young crow sitting in the gutter! To my astonishment (and probably his!), he just sat there in the gutter and I think he was winded. Anyway, I tried to take some shots through the window but they were so dirty the images were just too hazy so I decided to go downstairs and get some shots from below (see Bits & Bobs album) and then I went upstairs to talk to baby crow again and reassure him. Steve was out in the garden wondering what all the noise was about in the trees and he had his gun in his hand! I said don't worry about the adult crows, they are just worried about their baby and told him what had happened. I then came downstairs again and asked him to take some shots of me with baby crow if he would stay in the gutter. I carefully opened the window as I didn't want to make him jump and talked gently to him and Steve took this photo and some others. I was so pleased but don't look at the wrinkles because I haven't got any makeup on! He must have sat there for about 10 - 15 minutes but then decided to walk up the roof and he was limping. He then sat on the roof for a couple of minutes (see Even More album) and then he flew away. He had stopped limping by the time he walked along the ridge tiles so I think he was OK just felt a little sore. What a wonderful start to my day!
Thanks to everyone for their kind comments and Favs on my previous birds of prey shots and also for the pic of Bas my lovely cockatoo
