I heard the familiar sound of a robin "clicking" - his warning call and I followed the sound to see him sitting on my neighbour's (who lives opposite) fence. He seemed to like sitting on this part of the fence as he flew off when a bus came along but landed back on the fence a few minutes later once it had disappeared. Then another robin joined in on the fence of the neighbour who lives on the opposite side of the opening to the cul de sac so then they were clicking together. Perhaps, they were warning each other that this was their territory as they don't like other robins invading their space.
I am going to see my grandson this afternoon as it is his 11th birthday which is why I am uploading early. I have had a lovely morning making more tomato chutney, chicken and mushroom pie for dinner tomorrow and mince pies. I seem to have an enthusiasm for cooking again and I think that's because I didn't have to do any last week when we were away.
