Pheasant by rosiekind

Pheasant

Look who I saw in the field down Wood Lane. It's obviously not our Phil who used to visit the garden but I was still pleased to see him before he disappeared into the undergrowth. For those who didn't follow me ages ago, I used to have a pheasant that visited the garden during the winter and helped himself to the food that the small birds dropped from the feeders. We called him Phil and when he brought his wife, she was Fiona. Then he decided to bring his harem! He was so clever though because we used to see him looking both ways before he crossed the road. After a couple of years, he disappeared and so I think he probably died of natural causes. At least I hope it was that way rather than getting shot. I think pheasant shooting is horrible as they are lovely birds and I cannot understand why anyone would breed birds to shoot them.

Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs and for following my project.
