My friend the starling

As soon as I had put a new suet block into the feeder, this little fellow arrived to fill his little tummy. I haven't had much time today because it's my birthday and so my son who I haven't seen for absolutely ages, (I'm not sure whether I actually saw him last year) and his family came to see me and brought me a lovely bunch of flowers and nice card. They also brought my Christmas present (better late than never!) and I gave them their stocking fillers as they didn't get to see me at Christmas. I'm off to my daughter's for dinner tomorrow and off to see one of my favourite rock bands tonight in our local pub. Once again, I apologise for the fact that I may not have time to comment tonight.

How nice to see your son - birthdays are a great invention! I can go for years without seeing mine - too far away. Its interesting seeing the great design on the starling that one doesn't notice till a good photo like this!
