Every morning when I come down to make the coffee to take back to bed with Bas on my shoulder, I see this pair of red legged partridges. They have been coming now for about a week and they just peck around on the lawn. They are quite timid though and soon run off if they notice me anywhere in the house and then they fly onto the garage at the back which belongs to a neighbour. I don't think they will nest in the duck house which Steve made for the mallards who we haven't seen for a few days now. I just never know what I'm going to see when I look through my kitchen window!
Last night we went for a pizza as usual and annoyingly, the blessed car with the street camera must have come round and stuck a parking ticket on my car. It has happened once to Steve and now I've had the same misfortune! We parked in a different place but it's a dear pizza when you have to pay £35 parking fine if you pay within 14 days and £70 if you don't pay within 28 days. They want you to go into Bedford but then craftily cruise the streets at night looking for people to pinch. If they had a good pizza place in St Neots or somewhere else, I think I would go there. With the Mayor's election coming up I think I will vote for anyone who is not out to make easy money from the motorist but I don't suppose there is a candidate like that. It has not been a very good start to the weekend so I suppose it can only get better.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Now that was an expensive topping on your pizza, it really annoys me with parking fines. I got the same fine once whilst visiting my Sister in Gloucester hospital. I had a blue badge showing but they said it wasn't displayed correctly - still fined me.
We have red legged partridges too but ours are duller than this....perhaps the females are not as flamboyant. Lovely colours! Our bird table is in the wrong place for me to catch anything until I get a zoom lens. We gphad a sparrow hawk swooping down this morning so all the birds were very wary.
Lovely capture of these pretty birds. FAV.
