I have been on a little trip over to the village where I grew up as I wanted to see whether the rose bush that we had planted in the chapel garden was flowering. It was my late Mother's wish to have her ashes scattered there nearly 6 years ago. Despite being told that the first bush had died and they had planted another one in it's place, sadly I could not find it and I know exactly what the roses would look like as the rose was called Peace - it is a pale yellow with a pink tinge to the edge of the petals. I must have a look to see when the best time is for planting rose bushes so that I can go over and plant one myself. It probably needs some of my magic fertilizer and words of encouragement! I shall try when I know the best time to plant the rose.
Thanks for getting yesterday's light aircraft on PP and for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Such a pretty village and chapel. I was sorry to read about the gated cottage; it is a shame when people become so private that they close off accessible memories.
Delightful shot, a very peaceful resting place for your Mum.
My daughters ashes are scattered in the Remembrance garden at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne. It was one of the first places we visited when we first came to Australia and being a military family it seemed to be a perfect place for her. Full circle.
