I had just arrived on the bank of the brook when Bluey arrived so I took a few quick shots of him. I was planning to use my new remote cable (10ft long) that I had bought on Ebay and I was just setting up. However, I went to get the plastic sheet to lay down to focus the camera and the cord must have been wrapped round my welly boot! You can guess the rest! The end of the cord was still in my remote connection but the cable was laying uselessly on the ground. I had broken it before I had even used it! Silly me so I still landed up standing behind a rather slim tree. I was rather annoyed with myself as the cable is really ruined and not even Steve can repair it. I have decided I shall probably take my tripod next time and use my new Nikon cable release - that way at least I won't have to hold the camera steady for a long time as my arms are aching. I shall also get a new battery for my wireless remote and try again. You know the saying: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again!
Thanks for getting 3 of my images on PP yesterday and for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
I enjoyed the narrative there Rosie, and can just imagine how disappointed you were to break the cable before you'd even used it! How frustrating. However, this is a lovely shot in consolation. I love how his little beak is covered in sand/mud.
Shame about the cable
