Another experimental day with the kingfisher. This time I took my tripod which seemed like a good idea but I forgot the tripod collar for my lens so consequently, with the long lens on it was difficult to get it to focus properly as the camera kept slipping down due to the weight of the lens. In the end, I resorted to balancing the camera on the camera bag and using my new Nikon cable release, managed to get this pic while I was laying down on a plastic sheet in the hollowed out bit on the bank. At least I didn't have to stand holding my camera for an hour but it wasn't very comfortable and the grass was extremely wet from yesterday's rain and the ground felt cold. Tomorrow I am going to try again with the remote trigger (so long as it will work from some distance away) and the tripod. Let's hope the weather is going to be OK
Thanks for getting all 3 of my images on PP yesterday and for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
