Parent and child - the hobbies

The hobby is not a very common bird so I was pleased to catch this shot of the parent on the left bringing a dragonfly for the young hobby on the right to eat. I saw 2 of the 3 chicks today when I visited the RSPB at Sandy. I think they fledged last Wednesday in al the pouring rain but I hadn't seen them out of the nest before and the tree is a long way away so I had the 1.4 extender on my 80-400mm lens. This is heavily cropped by I was pleased to get a shot of them both.

I should have been taking my very good friend Pam @pamknowler with me but unfortunately she has hurt her back and couldn't come so this one is for you Pam
