This morning I had a long walk around Dovecote Lake and along by the river. I walked through Bulge Wood and saw a little stream that leads down to the River Great Ouse. As I walked over the bridge, I thought to myself "this is a perfect place to find a kingfisher". Two seconds later, I heard the familiar whistle and lo and behold a flash of blue went towards the river. It was lovely to see him if only for a second. I walked back along the other side of the brook to see whether the young green woodpecker was there but all was quiet so I think he's fledged.
This afternoon I went up to the RSPB at Sandy for a very quick walk. There wasn't much in the hide but I did see this little robin in the garden behind the shop. He didn't hang about as I pointed my lens towards him so I was lucky to get this shot.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs and for getting yesterday's little blue tit and great tit on PP. It is always much appreciated.
By the way, Happy 4th July to all my friends in America.
Lovely shot
