Young blackbird by rosiekind

Young blackbird

I haven't had any time today so this is one from yesterday. The little blackbird was tucking into the sunflower seeds as no doubt she's watched her father. When I went out to water the tomatoes and courgettes, I saw a really small blackbird hiding in the courgette leaves. His Dad was nearby and flew around to the side of the house but soon went back to look after the little one after I had come into the house. Then later when I went out again, I noticed another young blackbird dead outside the bay window in our kitchen. I think it had probably flown at the window and broken it's neck. It makes me sad when I see things like this because the parents work so hard bringing them up.

Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Lovely young bird! Fav!

A lovely shot of this shy baby. Nature takes it's course Rosie, it happens all the time. It must be difficult for them to know the difference. Unfortunately I have it occasionally too 😢

It’s wonderful to see the young birds making progress like this one but so sad when they don’t make it when the parents have worked so hard as you say.
