I have been to Royal Papworth Hospital today to see a film about the history of the hospital and also the future move to the Biomedical Campus in Cambridge. I just had to walk around the pond where not only me but many patients have spent some happy hours. It is just so peaceful and the patients know that when they can walk around the pond, they are fit for discharge and it's especially great for the transplant patients as they can sit and enjoy the view with their families. It truly was the best hospital I have worked in with such a lovely atmosphere and among the most caring people. I used to work in Critical Care and although it could be quite stressful, I enjoyed every minute of it.
