In the summer, Bas goes outside with us and sits in his smaller cage but he loves to see what we are doing and still has a box to play with when he gets bored.
Update on the nests in the garden - the robins fledged a couple of days ago and Robbie and Rosena still come to feed from my hand. However, the babies (I don't know how many there are) are being fed in our neighbour's garden which is a bit of a cheek! I wish they were hanging round our garden but it's nice to see Robbie and have him feeding from my hand.
In the camera nest box, the little female is sitting on 6 eggs. However, sadly, I think her mate has disappeared (probably predated) as she comes out from time to time to feed. Poor little thing. I feel so sorry for her and wish I could do something to help. Whether she will be able to feed them when they hatch may be a problem on her own. I have put some extra special suet balls outside very close to her nest so that she can feed easily and there seems to be plenty of grubs in the silver birch tree that I have seen her go to.
Thank you for all your kind comments and Favs. It is always much appreciated.
How lovely to see Bas in his summer house. Such a pity about the cheeky neighbours, at least Robbie still comes to you. I am sure you are doing more than enough to make sure all the birds are well fed Rosie 😊
